David "Pete" Fulbright

David Lee Fulbright better known as Pete passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at home. Pete was a one-of-a-kind, loving soul with a huge heart and a smile that would light up a room. He touched many lives with his kind heart during his career with the City of Hickory and his Goats. He was truly a man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Rest in Peace my dear husband, daddy, Papaw, and friend! Pete was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jason David Fulbright. His father, Howard Fulbright, and his niece Kimberly Fulbright. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Lucinda Miller Fulbright, his loving daughter, Rebecca Fulbright Coxey and his daughter-in-law, Vanessa Fulbright. Four beautiful loving grandchildren, Anna Coxey, Emma Fulbright, John Fulbright, and Colton Coxey. He is also survived by his mother, Mozelle Fulbright, sister and brother-in-law Betty and Earl Little, brother and sister-in-law Gary and Barbara Fulbright. He dearly loved his Miller family who loved him the same. Butch and Margaret, Joe, Eddie, Michael, and Steven and Jacqueline were always on hand and willing to help with those goats or whatever. Our mother loved him as a son. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. We would like to thank all our friends who have tirelessly helped take care of us; Ray Richards, Kent Cranford and his Granny's family, Bryan Norris, his side kick - Jim Cartwright, the Lenoir Rhyne Posse, and Bob and Leslie Wine. Dr. Mark Faruque, our family doctor and friend, took care of him until the end of life. The Bethlehem Community Fire and Rescue, who helped us get him in the house, and do anything needed to assist us. Alexander EMS who would be here in a flash for transport and care. The receiving will be at Bass Smith Funeral Home, Hickory, N.C. Saturday, May 6th, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services are Sunday, May 7th at 2 p.m., Augustana Lutheran Church in Hickory. The Rev. Richard Schwandt and Rev. Mike Ramey will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. We are honored for these Pall Bearers to take care of Pete, Brian Hardy, Lou Berry, Brad Abernathy, Jody Miller, Matt Landini, Danny Schwandt, Tommy Hughes and George Hahn III.
