Don Turner Obituary

Don Alan Turner, age 66, went to his eternal home on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Don had a heart of gold and lived to serve and help others, which was driven by his faith in Jesus Christ. Don was blessed with a loving family, supportive friends and a vibrant church community. From a young age, Don had an entrepreneurial spirit and he used his God-given talents for business to run several successful family-owned businesses in the area. He was always looking for ways to help others; especially his wife, daughters, and friends he called family. He spent his final years enjoying the fruits of his labor with his loving wife of 40 years Mary Beth, traveling in his motor home with dogs Scooter and Maggie, going on missions trips and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He also enjoyed a quick laugh with good friends at Backstreets, Fresh Depot, and (formerly) Hams of Hickory. Don was an active and faithful member of Christ Church in Mountain View. While a man of few words, Don's legacy of service and love was experienced by many and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by wife Mary Beth Turner of Hickory and daughters Jessica Arnold and husband, Konrad of Durham; Natalie Arrowood and husband, Jared of Charlotte; grandchildren Hank Arnold, Maeve Arnold and Turner Arrowood. "Third daughter" Caitlyn Council of Granite Falls. Father Jerry Turner of Hickory. Brothers Randy Turner and wife Kim of Hickory and David Turner of Hildebran. Sister Deborah Myers of Claremont. Brother-in-law Michael Harren and wife Libby of Lenoir and sister-in-law Kathy Davis and husband Bill of Granite Falls. Uncles Jimmy Turner and wife Barbara of Murrells Inlet, SC; Douglas Parker and wife Anita of Hubert; Ed Salter of Stella. Aunts Janice Bean of Swansboro and Kay Parker of Huber. Nephews and nieces Josh Harren of Lenoir; Joy Thompson of Conover; Jason Turner of Statesville; Emily Parker of Camden, SC; Erica Davis of Chapin, SC; Katie Davis of Granite Falls; Madison Yount of Hickory; Leigha Wilson of Advance; Matthew Turner of Charlotte and Christina Myers of Claremont.
He is preceded in death by mother Dorothy Kiziah Turner, mother-in-law Eloise Parker Harren, brother-in-law Butch Myers and nephew Andrew Harren.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, October 13 from 12 to 1:45 p.m. and celebrate Don's life at 2 p.m. at Christ Church in Mountain View (2416 Zion Church Road, Hickory). A graveside service for family will immediately follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

So saddened to hear of Don´s passing. I feel very fortunate having caught up with Don and my besty Mary Beth in recent years. My deepest sympathy to Mary Beth, brother Randy, and the rest of his family. Although my heart aches for you, let it be of comfort knowing he is in eternal peace.

I have just heard about Don and I just want to say what a wonderful Blessed man he was .Prayers for his wife I know she will miss him so much. He would come in our office and we loved to hear his story´s of his missions what a miracle he spoke and touch people with his Words.
