Eddie Dean Baker

February 15, 1948 - October 15, 2025

Eddie Dean Baker, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Eddie was born on Sunday, February 15, 1948, to the late Floyd Baker and Goldie H. Baker.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Baker; and sisters, Rita Suldrich and Phyllis Laney.

Eddie was a great dad and grandfather. He was dependable and you knew you could always count on him. Eddie served his country in the US Army, and he worked for the US Postal Service until retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Eddie enjoyed working on classic cars. He liked to share his restored cars at local car shows.

Those left to cherish Eddie's memory are his daughter, Tonya Baker Austin; brother, Neil Baker; sister, Verna Baker; and grandchildren, Gabriel Austin, Caleb Austin, Noah Austin, Luke Austin, Levi Austin, and Shelby Austin.

A Celebration of Eddie's Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Reverend Luke Self officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Burial be held at 3pm at Catawba Memorial Park.
