Elisha Jones JESUP, Ga. Elisha Josiah Axson Jones, 3, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Memorial University Health Center in Savannah, Ga. Born June 14, 2008, in Dublin, Ga, he was the son of Gabriel Jonathan Axson and Brittany LaShell Jones. Elisha was a member of the Jesup Head Start Program and the Jesup Elementary School PIP Program. He also attended the Country Kids After School Program and Turning Point Worship Center. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Axson; maternal great-grandfather, Fred England; great-grandmother, Juanita Jones; and great-great-grand-mother, Beatrice Gibbs. In addition to his parents, Elisha is survived by his brother, Gabriel JyQuan Axson, of Dublin, Ga.; sisters, Gabriana J. Barnes and Abriel Nelson, both of Dublin, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Lemont and Peggy Jones, of Jesup, Ga.; paternal grandmother, Bernice Axson, of Dublin, Ga.; maternal great-grandmother, Ella England of Newton; maternal great-grandfather, Pete Jones, of Mt. Olive; uncle, Jonathan England Jones, of Hollywood, Calif.; and Godmothers, Jennifer Boyd and Paula Bennett of Jesup, Ga. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton with the Pastor Derrick Phillips officiating and great-great-uncle Overseer, Rev. Dr. Ivey L. Cowan giving the eulogy. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, in Newton. Condolences may be sent to the Jones family at drumfuneralhome.-com.
