Eulan Rhoney Obituary

Eulan Rhoney HICKORY Eulan A. Rhoney, 91 of Hickory, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born May 2, 1920, he was the son of the late Neal Rhoney and Cordia Willis Rhoney. Mr. Rhoney was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of Penelope Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Rhoney; three sisters, Della Hudson, Eva Reynolds, and Lassie Rhoney Brittian; five brothers, Tut, Evan, Neal, Jack, and Elpheus Rhoney. He is survived by a son, Steve Rhoney and his wife, Diane of Hickory; daughters, Elaine Arney and her husband John of Connelly Springs; Geraldine Small and her husband, Steve of Potomac, Md.; a brother, Ray Rhoney of Vale; a sister, Willard Abee Smith of Valdese; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 10, 3 p.m. at Penelope Baptist Church with the Revs. David Grinanell and Todd Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the church prior to the service. All other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Penelope Baptist Church, 3310 Main Ave. NW, Hickory, N.C. 28601 Bass-Smith Granite is serving the family of Eulan A. Rhoney.
