Glenn Lester Wilson, 93, was born on December 15, 1931, to the late Lander Junius Wilson and Johncie Elvira Bryant. He passed away on July 20, 2025, at his home. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Winklers Grove Baptist Church in Hickory. Glenn founded Glenn Wilson Construction Company in 1954 building many homes in the surrounding area until he retired in 1993.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Shirley; daughter, Rachel Diane Wilson; brothers, Coye, Clifton and Howard Wilson; sisters, Donnie Sigman, Mary Houser, Leona Cansler and Eunice Goble.
Glenn was survived by his son, Michael Wilson and wife Sandy; sister, Ruby Wilson; grandchildren, Mike Wilson and wife Jennifer, and Jordan Wilson; great-grandchildren, Michael and Grant Wilson; sisters in law, Doris Yount and husband David, Rita Dellinger, Kaye Dixon; he had a number of nieces and nephews that he cared deeply for.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., prior to the service on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Winklers Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Ernie Wilson and Reverend Paul Deal officiating. Caldwell County Honor Guard and the National Guard will provide Military Honors following service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Carolina Caring.
