J. Calvin Jones HICKORY J. Calvin Jones, 96, of Rhodhiss, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born Jan. 31, 1915 in Greenville, S.C. to the late Drayton and Lydia Davis Jones. He was retired from Burlington Mills as a plant engineer, a member of Granite Falls Rotary Club for over 64 years where he was a past president and also a Paul Harris Fellow. Survivors include four sons, Gerald Jones and his wife, Vicki of Greenville, S.C., Roger Jones and his wife, Ruth Ann of Cheraw, S.C., Harold Jones and his wife, Pam of Hickory, and David Jones and his wife, Rhonda of Raleigh; a daughter, Rita Longest of Pinehurst; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father Bob Farris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of Calvin Jones on Friday.
