Dr. Jack Thomas Brinkley III, 47, of Taylorsville, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2022.
Born Nov. 18, 1974, in Columbus, Ga., he was the son of Ann Harding Martin and the late Jack Thomas Brinkley Jr.
In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Jack had a passion for reading novels, loving on his animals, spending time on the farm, going to church, traveling to Hawaii, collecting crazy socks, and watching James Bond on repeat. Jack had an incredibly open personality with everyone in his life and they felt like they could talk to him about anything. He touched so many lives with his generosity and kindness and he always had a smile on his face. He opened his heart to so many people and he will be sorely missed by all.
In addition to his mother, Ann, he is survived by his wife, Alice Camille Brinkley of the home; children, Camille Alice Brinkley and fiancé, Dalton Setzer, of Raleigh, Björn Gunther Brinkley, and Scarlett Elizabeth Brinkley, both of Taylorsville; two brothers: Matthew Brinkley and wife, Lindsey, of Apison, Tenn., Charlie Martin and fiancée, Mary Plum, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a sister, Audrey Keen and husband, Eric, of Burke, Va.; and a grandmother, Bettie Willingham of Atlanta, Ga.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with Father Larry LoMonaco officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, Sept. 9, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory from 1 to 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or Pregnancy Care Center of Catawba Valley.

I met Dr. Brinkley last year when he moved is dental practice to Goldsboro. He did a crown, root canal & general cleaning check. He had a great bedside manner and I really thought a lot of him in the short time I knew him. He had such an attentive & caring personality. He called me after ea procedure to see how things were going. I am devastated to hear this news. Prayers for his family during this time. RIP my new friend. You will be missed as I was so looking forward to many years of dental care with him. I am truly saddened by his loss.

This just makes me so sad. He was my dentist the whole time he practiced here in Taylorsville. He was always so pleasant and always said or did something to make me laugh. He will certainly be be missed! We will be praying for your family!!
