James Brittain Obituary

ORLANDO, Fla. - James C. Brittain Jr., 63, of Sanford, Fla., passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah, of almost six short years; his daughter, Nikki Brittain Ray; his father, James C. Brittain Sr.; his brother, Joseph Brittain; his mother-in-law, Wilda; his sister-in-law, Shari and her husband, Fred (Bubba); his nephews and nieces, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Tiffany, Chris and his wife, Mandy, Jacqueline, Kippy and her husband, Chris, Kim and her husband, Kevin, and Debbie and her husband, Steve; and his grandchildren. His mother, Othella Hill Dull, and his son, Mark James Brittain, preceded him in death. He was a Master Mason and Past Master of Mokanna Masonic Lodge 329. He always said he wanted to "live respected and die regretted," and I believe he truly accomplished that.

Jim was a very unique and caring person...he was so in tune with life and always tried to find a way to make things better. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him and he loved his family dearly. Nikki was his pride and joy and he loved her with all his heart. Jim was a great father, teacher and was always there for her. He will be missed but we will look forward to the day we are all together again.
"A Letter To Those I Love"
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, you must not tie yourself to me with tears, be thankful for our beautiful years. I gave to you my love and you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time, I travel alone. So grieve a while for me if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on, so if you need me, call, and I will come. Though you can't see nor touch me, I'll be near; And if you listen with your heart you'll hear all my love around, soft and clear. And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say "Welcome Home".

Jimmy was a outstanding friend in high school. I have many "great memories" of our times in DeMolay. Sadly, as with other member of HHS Class of 1962, I lost contact over the years by being so far away. But, as in the theme song of Bob Hope: Jimmy, "Thanks for the memories."

I remember Jimmy well from high school. He was always fun to be
around. We had a few classes
together, and he was always able to
make us all laugh. My deepest sympathy to the family.

My heart goes out to the entire family. Jim was a very dear friend of mine in High School and remained good friends thru out our adult lives. He loved his entire family very much. He did not mind telling you. Nikki you were the sparkle in his eyes. He was so proud of you..He often expressed what a good job Kay did raising You.
Deborah he always mentioned to me how caring you were and how lucky he was to find you...Joe, Jim often told the story of you "borrowing" his car without permission. I am sure you won't forget that story either...I am sure Jim, Dee, and Judy are all giving each other a "hug" and looking down on all the loved ones and friends left behind. They know one day we will all meet again...Both Family and Friends.
My prayers are with all of you and we all have lots of memories.
