Janie Marie Sigmon Rockett, 88, of Claremont, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at her residence.
She was born June 16, 1937 in Catawba to the late Clarence Everett Sigmon and Katie Ruth Abernethy Sigmon. Janie was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and retired from Pembrook Chair after many years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clyde Everett Rockett; brothers, Joe Sigmon and George "Buck" Sigmon; son, Stephen Long Rockett; and grandson, Ricky Rockett, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Clyde Rockett, Jr. of Claremont, Ricky Dean Rockett of Claremont; daughter, Janet Rockett Wilson and husband Tommie of Newton; grandchildren, Anna Slotchiver, Russel Rockett, Erika Bizjak, Brittany Frow, Kristen Souza, Timothy Price Jr., Anthony Benge, Haley Benge, Whitney, and Katelyn; 16 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Janie's life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Rev. Eric Hollar and Rev. Morgan Lane will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m to 11:45 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church. Those serving as pallbearers will be Matt Frow, Andrew Bizjak, Tim Price, Jr., Russell Rockett, Justin Stickland, and Marcos Souza.
