Jaxon Trae Blanton, 5, of Newton, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Carolinas Medical Center.
Born July 28, 2017, he was the son of Phillip Chad Blanton and Kurstin Taylor Cordle. Jaxon was in kindergarten at Startown Elementary School. He loved playing with Roblox, Sonic the Hedgehog, superheroes, Nerf guns and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Kurstin Cordle; father, Phillip Blanton; sister, Stella Blanton; and grandparents, Michele and Brian Cordle and Lynne Blanton.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charlie Blanton; and uncle, Christopher Blanton.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at Jenkins Funeral Home, with Pastor Aaron Causby officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service and burial will follow at the Jenkins Funeral Home Cemetery.
