Jerry Killian Obituary

HICKORY - Jerry Leroy Killian, 72, of Sulphur Springs Road, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Brian Center-East after a period of declining health. Born May 14, 1934, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Frances Sigmon Killian. He was a lifelong member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Mo. Synod and retired as a purchasing agent for the furniture industry. He is survived by his wife, Joann Eckard Killian; three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy L. and Lisa Killian, Leslie and Lori Killian and Bradley and Donna Killian, all of Hickory; six grandchildren, Emily, Erin, Olivia, Abigail, Jordan and Joshua Killian; a sister, Marie Mosteller of Hickory; and a brother, Jimmie Killian of Hickory. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Mo. Synod, with the Revs. David Guelzow and David Ziehr officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Thursday, at Hickory Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658. Hickory Funeral Home, 1031 Eleventh Ave. Blvd., SE, is in charge of arrangements.
