Joanne Heesch Obituary
September 9, 1944 - August 21, 2021
Joanne Shook Heesch, 76, of Hickory, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at her residence.
Born in Catawba County, Sept. 9, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Lee and Wilma Ruth Huffman Shook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Shook.
Joanne was employed at the Hickory Daily Record for 43 years.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Ray Heesch, of the home; son, Joey Annas (Kiperly) of Hickory; daughter, Joni Joiner (Jeff) of Gilbert, Ariz.; grandchildren, Leigh Annas, Jaxon Joiner, Jacob Joiner and Jace Joiner; great-grandchildren, Carsyn Griffin, and Madyx Annas; stepdaughter, Emily Heesch of Hickory; stepson, Marty Heesch (Sheila) of Hickory; and sisters, Peggy Kucko (Don) of Conover and Ruby Overcash (Charles) of Catawba.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hickory Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. at Catawba Memorial Park, with Jeff Joiner officiating. Pallbearers will be Joey Annas, Jeff Joiner, Marty Heesch, Terence Cansler, Kevin Isenhour and Parker Story. Roger would like to invite everyone to his residence for a small reception after the graveside service.
