John Bebber Obituary

TAYLORSVILLE - John L. Bebber, 89, of Liberty Grove Church Road in Taylorsville, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Valley Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. He was born July 10, 1920, in Alexander County to the late E.L. Bebber and Carrie Thomas Bebber. A lifelong member of Three Forks Baptist Church, he was a retired furniture worker and farmer. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 84 in Taylorsville. He enjoyed bluegrass music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie R. Bebber, Lindsay B. Bebber and Ned W. Bebber, and four sisters, Elsie Bebber, Blanche B. Canup, Cecil B. Canup and Hazel B. Watts. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Mae Mecimore Bebber of the home; a daughter, Glenna Mae Bebber Yoder and husband, Easton, of Newton; a son, Terry Lee Bebber of Bethlehem; two grandchildren, Skylar Brock Yoder and Adison Adair Yoder of Newton; two sisters, Inez B. Johnson of Kannapolis and Mildred B. Meadlock of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at Three Forks Baptist Church by Dr. Carson Moseley. Burial, with military rites by members of DAV Chapter 84, will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Thursday, at Adams Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Three Forks Baptist Church Building Fund, 4685 Three Forks Church Road, Taylorsville, N.C. 28681 or Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658.
