Mrs. Juanita Sue Smith Williams, 92, of Icard, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Serenity Family Care, following a period declining health.
Juanita was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Caldwell County, to the late James Arthur Smith and Daisy Kaylor Smith. She was a longtime member of Connelly Springs First Baptist Church and was retired from the housekeeping department at Valdese Hospital, now BRHC-Valdese.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Red Williams; and siblings, Earl Smith, Beatrice Smith, Lettie Smith Dula, Jim Smith, Violet Smith, Wilma Smith Kirby, Margie Smith Ramsey, Bill Smith, Paul Smith and Rex Smith.
Survivors include one sister, Rachel Smith Foster; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and –nephews; and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7, at 4 p.m., in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with the Rev. Danny Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Rutherford College. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 3:30 to 4 p.m., at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
