Larry Dean Neill, 69, of Hickory, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at Hickory Village Memory Care.
Born May 31, 1953, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Roy Zeb Neill and Edna Houser Neill. Larry attended St. Dorothy's Catholic Church in Lincolnton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Emma Gene Neill, Gail Neill Towery, Maida Neill Beam; brother, Roy Z. Neill; fiancée, Barbara Dellinger; and Jim Dellinger, who took care of Larry for many years.
He is survived by Amelia Dellinger of Lincolnton and numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at McKendree United Methodist Church in Lincolnton, with the Rev. Gregg Plott officiating. The body will lie in state Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The family will gather Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
