Linda Pharr
July 28, 1955 - September 17, 2025
Linda Jean (Rhodes) Pharr, age 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday September 17th in her sunroom, surrounded by her loving family and houseplants.
Born on July 28, 1955, Linda brought humor, warmth, and beauty into the world and into the lives of everyone who knew her. She was known for her quick wit, no-nonsense honesty, and a deep love for gardening. Her home was full of plants and flowers with a yard to match, more than anyone could count, and she cared for each one with the same thoughtfulness she gave to those around her.
Linda earned a BS degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech, but her true career was built alongside her husband, Robert (Bob) Pharr, working together in the family businesses where she handled the books, accounts, customer service, and the behind-the-scenes operations that kept everything running like a well-oiled machine. She later retired from Blue Skies Veterinary Hospital in Hickory, N.C., where she was a trusted bookkeeper and a favorite among coworkers.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bob Pharr; her son, Matt Pharr and his partner, Melinda; her son, Randall Pharr and his wife, Tonya, and their children, Aaron and Miles; and her daughter, Nicole Brown (Pharr) and her husband, Todd, along with their children, Taylor (Jay) and Hunter (Michaela), and great-granddaughter, Sadie. She looked forward to that new life with great joy.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond "Rocky" Coolidge Rhodes and Hildred "Tillie" Smith Rhodes. Those left to cherish her memories include her siblings, Ronnie Rhodes (Dreama), Donna Ingram (Johnny), Nancy Tucker (Eddie), and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held at Drum Funeral Home-Hickory, October 11th, at 3 p.m. with receiving at 2 p.m. In keeping with her preferences, the family invites you to remember her not with formality, but with stories, laughter, and love. In lieu of flowers (though Linda would never say no to a purple Iris), memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) of Shenandoah Valley, 583 Airport Road Lititz PA 17543 USA.
