Lloyd A. Bumgarner

HUDSON - Mr. Lloyd Andrew Bumgarner, 75, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Hudson, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla. Lloyd was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Hudson, to Lawrence W. and Dorothy (Yount) Bumgarner. He was employed for more than 43 years with Shuford Mills Inc. as a plant manager. Lloyd was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran, a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and sang in the Bumgarner Quartet for 25 years. He was also a member of the Cedar Valley Ruritan Club in Hudson and worked as a real estate agent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Floyd, and a sister, Christine Stamper. He is survived by his daughter, Gina (Preston) Estridge-Zwanzig of Lakeland, Fla.; brothers, Donald and Wayne Bumgarner of Hudson; sister, Mozelle Church of Hudson; sister-in-law, Wanda Bumgarner of Hudson; twin granddaughters, Brooke and Lauren Estridge-Zwanzig of Lakeland, Fla.; and special friends, Loretta (Richard) Borde, Ernest Bumgarner and Tina Olestine. The funeral service for Mr. Bumgarner will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, with Pastors Clyde Bumgarner and Doug Howell officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Mackie-High Funeral Home.
