Max Reese

May 23, 1932 - September 24, 2025

Max left this world peacefully, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loved ones. Max Ray Reese was born May 23, 1932, in Conover, N.C., the son of Brady Cornelius Bowman and Cecil Malcolm Reese. Throughout his life, Max was a source of love and support to his family. He was a devoted husband of 65 years to Carolyn Fowler Reese and loving father to his three children. Max worked for the city of Hickory for 32 years. Max was a follower of Jesus Christ and member of First United Methodist Church. Max was known for his quiet and strong demeanor to his family and friends. Max is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Kay Robinson (David) of Ohio; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Max was preceded in death by his two sons, Malcolm (Martha) of Bethlehem and David (Lisa) of Statesville. Also surviving are his sisters, Betty Marshall and Patricia Sigmon; as well as many numerous nieces and nephews. The Reese family would like to thank Trinity Village and Carolina Caring for all the love and care given to Max and Carolyn over the past three years. "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise " - Luke 23:43.
