December 10, 1948 - January 30, 2023
Michael Douglas Chandler, 74, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Carolina Caring Hospice, following a period of declining health.
Michael was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Caldwell County, to the late Lawrence Chandler and Shirley Wilson Chandler.
He owned and operated Mr. C's Truck Wash for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia "Patty" Baker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Cathy Chandler Knepp and husband, Ronald Keith, of Hudson, and Dana Hicks and husband, Jerry, of Lenoir; sister, Beverly "Cindy" Collins and husband, Terry, of Iron Station; grandchildren, Dakota Dula and Ethan Hicks; brother-in-law, Charles Baker of Sawmills; niece, Carmen Jenkins and husband, Keith, of Lincolnton; and nephews, Jeffery Baker and wife, Nancy, of Sawmills, Tyler Collins and wife, Jessica, of Lincolnton, and Evan Collins of Lincolnton.
A funeral service was held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service, with the Rev. Edd Warren officiating. The family gathered with friends an hour prior to the service. Interment followed at Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery. The family then met for a meal, generously provided by First United Methodist Church of Granite Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.

I remember Mr. Chandler from washing our trucks many years ago at Sharpe Motor Lines in Hildebran, NC, our thoughts and prayers are with the Chandler family.
