December 7, 1939 - May 19, 2023

NEWTON- Nellie Janette Rudisill Evans, 83 of Newton, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 19, 2023, from an automobile accident.

Born in Catawba County on December 7, 1939, she was the daughter to the late Joe Alexandra and Ida Beatrice Rhoney Rudisill.

In addition to her parents, her husband Jim Henry Evans, eight brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Nellie was a member of Hickory Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was retired cafeteria worker for Catawba County School System.

Her son Jimmy Ray Evans of the home survives her and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends, Friday, May 26, 2023 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stan York with be officiating.

Burial will follow service at Catawba Memorial Park.
