January 22, 1940 - November 17, 2021
Peggy "Arlene" Webb, 81, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, after a short fight with cancer.
She was born in Grayson County, Va., Jan. 22, 1940, to the late James Hurley Belton and Gladdy Waller Belton. She was the third of 13 children.
Arlene worked for over 40 years in various textile businesses. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an awesome Mom!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Don Belton, Dean Belton, Hurley Belton, Michael Belton, Harry Belton, Richard Belton, and Mark Belton; sisters, Carolyn Belton, and Barbara Whisnant; and son-in-law, Frank Stikeleather.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, Bruce Webb; daughter, Rhonda Stikeleather; son, David Prewitt; brothers, Bobby Belton and wife, Dora, Johnny Belton and wife, Wanda, and Raymond Belton; and grandchildren, Josh Stikeleather and wife, Ashley, Kaitlyn Prewitt and fiancé, Brett Spencer, Morgan Greene and husband, Jamie, Heather Haynes and husband, Seth, and Chelsea Belton. Also surviving are stepchildren, David Webb and Jennifer Webb Childers and their children; great-grandchildren, Xander, Cole, Ellie, Nolan, Paisley, and Hailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Arlene's life and love will be held in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. David Stikeleather officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Memorial Methodist Church at 1705 Zion Rd. in Morganton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., at Heritage Funeral Service.

Deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always so nice to me. She was spunky and said things in the funniest ways. I can remember as a little girl, she gave my dad some of her delicious fudge. I ate so much that I literally could not take another bite. I was chocolated out! When dad was in Hospice, she brought him some there and I ate some of it because it was the best ever and it brought back good memories. She was a great sister to dad. She never forgot his birthday and always sent him a card each year. She will be missed greatly. Continued prayers for everyone. Love, Betty
