June 29, 1950 - October 18, 2024
Philip Rollins passed away unexpectedly On Friday, October 18, 2024.
Born and raised in Hickory, Philip has spent 40 plus years in the construction business building residential speculative and custom high-end homes. Starting out learning specialized construction from Master Builder Bob Miller, Philip continued to practice his techniques through designing and building residential homes throughout the Unifour area. He was a member and past president of the Hickory Builders Association. In later years he formed PBR Trucking, Inc., and drove his own Truck from Coast to Coast and from Midwest to the Eastern States.
Philip was preceded in death by his mother, Erma Killian Rollins; father, George Baxter Rollins; and daughter, Robin Lee Rollins.
Surviving family includes his wife, Linda B. Rollins; sons, Philip Nathan Rollins (Michele) and Chistopher Kyle Rollins (Margot); sister, Linda R. Hodierne (Chuck); brother, Richard Dean Rollins (Libby); seven grandchildren/bonus grandchildren; and many nieces; and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Please respect the privacy of the Rollins family during this difficult time.
Remembrances can be made through Bass-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorial gifts are suggested to be made to the Robin Lee Rollins Annuity (For Youth Activities) at Viewmont Baptist Church, 1246 2nd St. NE, Hickory, NC 28601.

Rollins construction helped us establish our cabinet shop back in the 90s and I enjoyed learning a lot from Mr. Rollins.. He was always very well respected for the quality project he built.. He was a good person and always gave 100% to his customers and kindness to his subs.

To Linda, Nathan and Kyle, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a wonderful friend! Both work and personally. We used to love talking politics and solving the world problems. He would be as happy as I am that Trump won!! I will miss him, but not as much he will miss being with his sons!! He spoke of you both very often. May knowing and remembering those times spent with him, he will always be with you!!
