Mrs. Rebecca Jean Poovey Curtis, 85, of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.
Rebecca was born September 4, 1938 in Caldwell County to the late Lee Alonzo Poovey and Jessie Triplett Poovey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Cashion.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jack Curtis; sons, Rick Curtis and Michelle Nico and Chris Curtis and wife Melanie; grandchildren, Kim Moser and husband Jason; Chris Curtis, Jr. and wife Roxishanne, Jack Curtis, III, Caylan Curtis, and Lucy Curtis; great grandchildren, Max Curtis, Atticus Curtis, and Aurora Curtis; and brother, Spencer Poovey and wife Peggy.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church.
A memorial service will follow, beginning at 5 p.m. with Rev. Tom McDonald, Rev. Dan Keifer, and Rev. Jimmy Preachers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Music Ministry at Concord Baptist Church, P.O. Box 127 Granite Falls, NC 28630.

Sure did love this very special lady! Will miss you my friend. My sincere condolences to Jack, Rick, Chris and the rest of the family. We lost a wonderful lady but heaven gained another child of the King!
