Scott Webb Obituary

SHERRILLS FORD - Scott Edward Webb, 48, of Sherrills Ford, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born May 25, 1959, in Catawba County, he was the son of James Edward Webb and Martha Christopher Webb. Scott was vice president of NAR Channel Sales Enterprise Solutions for CommScope. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford. Scott enjoyed playing golf, skiing, basketball and tennis. He was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity, graduated with a business degree from UNCC, and was a graduate of Newton-Conover High School. He is survived by his wife, Melissa "Missy" Barberia Webb of the home; sons, Samuel Kimball Webb, Anthony James Webb and Maxwell Scott Webb; parents, James "Jim" E. Webb and Martha C. Webb of Conover; and a sister, Christie Dvorak and her husband, Scott, of Charlotte. A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joseph Westfall will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4136 Mount Pleasant Road, Sherrills Ford, N.C. 28673; CaringBridge, 1995 Rahn Cliff Court, Suite 200, Eagan, Minn. 55122; or Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Mail Processing Center, P.O. Box 6003, Albert Lea, Minn. 56007-6603. Condolences may be sent to the Webb family at www.drumfuneralhome.com. The Webb family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

I remember playing golf with scott in high school. I thought to myself "I can't believe I'm playing golf with Scott Webb ! ".I could hardly concentrate.His smile made me blush. My mom died not long ago and I know the devastation of losing a loved one who was the light of your life. I hope that God embraces you and gives you comfort. My deepest sympathy.
