October 17, 1936 - September 26, 2025
Shirley Anne Pruitt Kale, 88, of Troutman, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
She was born on October 17, 1936 in Hickory, N.C., to the late Claude and Beulah Auton Pruitt. Mrs. Kale was retired from Shurtape. She was an active member of Christ Community Church in Mooresville, where she was involved with the prayer team and other church activities. She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles and going to the beach. She loved her family and was an active grandmother, spending lots of time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel W. Kale, Sr.; and brother, James Pruitt.
She is survived by her children, Joel Kale, Jr. (Judy), Julia Shank (Larry), Janine Forshey (Charles), Jeff Kale (Karen); grandchildren, Aaron Kale, Jennifer Reid, David Kale (Julie), Allison Shank, Evan Kale, Sarah Forshey, Garrett Kale; great-grandchildren, Noah Reid and Charlotte Kale; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, at Christ Community Church in Mooresville, N.C.
