William Jack Schronce
July 4, 1935 - January 14, 2024
William "Jack" Schronce, 88, of Maiden passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence.
He was born July 4, 1935 in Catawba County to the late Henry Andrew Schronce and Nora Etta Rudisill Schronce. Jack was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Maiden, where he served as Deacon and in other capacities. He was a former member of Maiden Rescue Squad, serving numerous years before retiring in 1987. Jack retired at the age of 86 from the furniture manufacturing industry, working full time until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, hunting, fishing, going to church, attending sporting events for his grandchildren, but most importantly he enjoyed taking care of the ones he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Pope Schronce; brothers, Floyd, JW, Buck, Sam, David, and Bobby Schronce; sisters, Virginia Williams, Hazel Eakers, Geraline Sigmon, Dot Mitchell, and Louise Schronce; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Those left to cherish his memory are; sons: David Schronce of Maiden, Randy Schronce and wife Cindy of Maiden; grandchildren: Zach and Ashley Snell, Seth and Lindsey Putman, Houston Hutchens; great-grandchildren: Lilly, Ridge, and Reese Snell, baby Putman due in June; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Maiden. Rev. Matt Munday will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery conducted by Mr. Larry Teague. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Those serving as pallbearers are; Zach Snell, Seth Putman, Houston Hutchens, Jimmy Schronce, Josh White, and Terence Chitkhin. Ridge Snell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
