Julie Ann "Judy" Vogen

1949 - 2025

Julie Ann Vogen, 76, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Twentynine Palms. Born on May 23, 1949, Julie, affectionately known as Judy, leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness and professional achievement.
Judy spent her career as an optical technician in the Los Angeles area, where she worked with various companies that supplied specialty assemblies and equipment to defense contractors. Notably, she contributed to the assembly of lens and prism assemblies used in various fighter jets and also the Hubble Space Telescope and digital fingerprint identification systems utilized by law enforcement.
A resident of Twentynine Palms since 2012, Judy was a devoted member of the Palms Baptist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through her personal and professional endeavors.
Beyond her professional life, Judy was a passionate gardener, particularly fond of nurturing house plants. Her love for animals was profound and she loved her hummingbirds. She also enjoyed creating and selling handmade jewelry, often featuring natural themes that reflected her love for all of God's creations.
Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gary Vogen, her father, Harold I. Cole, her mother, Lorraine M. (Saunders) Cole, and her nephew, Christopher D. Cardenas. She is survived by her sister, Karen R. Cole, and husband Woody Kephart; niece Carrie L. Androshak and husband Paul, of Twentynine Palms; and great-niece Britney J. Masi and husband Andrew Evans, of Summerville, South Carolina.
Her family will hold a private celebration of life service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, honoring Judy's generous spirit.
