Kay was born to Rev. Martin and Katherine Wahl in Madison, Wisconsin, and was the oldest of six children. She graduated from Covina High School in California in 1957.
She met her husband, Arthur Patscheck Jr., at St John's Lutheran church in Hemet and the two were married in 1960. Arthur became a Lutheran pastor and they lived in Illinois, North Dakota, New Mexico and Desert Hot Springs, California, and finally Morongo Valley.
Katherine cleaned houses, sewed for others and worked in the cafeteria for the Palm Springs school district.
Katherine first and foremost loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and deeply loved her family. She was very competitive playing cards, Scrabble and Yahtzee. Katherine enjoyed collecting antique purses, quilting and collecting dolls.
Katherine was preceded in death by husband the Rev. Arthur Frank Patscheck Jr., son Arthur Frank Patscheck III and daughter Lori Ann Zunno. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Adamski (husband Michael), son Andrew Patscheck (wife Tiffanie), seven grandchildren, Amy, Mark, Aaron, Kaylee, Zachary, Anthony and Madeline, and three great-grandchildren, Cadence, Charlotte and Mia. One thing I found while going through her papers, is that her middle name was also spelled Madaline and on her birth record, Madaleine.
