Lucille LaVoune Bush

1942 - 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Lucille LaVoune Bush, who passed away surrounded by immediate family on January 7, 2024. She was born on April 11, 1942, in San Diego, California, to William M Beard and LaVoune (Bowman) Brannon.
She was a resident of Yucca Valley for 55 years. She is survived by four children, Richard F Norris, Ronald A Norris, Laura (Ty) Bontrager and Joel T Bush (Laura Lynn), 10 grandchildren (Kimberlee, Richard, Franklin, Marie, Becky, Alicia B., Jessica, Mikayla, Alicia N. and Erica), 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur D Bush, daughter Barbara (Norris) Nielsen, parents and three brothers, Milton Brannon, Russell and Alan Beard.
She loved being a mother and grandmother. She had a nickname for each grandchild. She'd mix up her kids' names, but she wouldn't her grandkids. Our mother's kindness and selfless, caring love was exemplified in how she gave her time and always put others before herself. She loved animals and managed a Humane Society thrift store to share in her passion of helping the animals. She was active in the Masonic order of the Eastern Star, obtaining many high achievements including proudly earning her 50-year membership pin.
Our mother touched us in many ways, but mostly by her love of music. As a child, she sang with her father and brother and played guitar, performing variety USO shows for the U.S. Navy. Many nights we fell asleep listening to her sing. She also enjoyed watching westerns and playing dice, backgammon and a mean game of gin (cutthroat).
She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors and we would be honored with your presence in celebrating the life of our dear beloved mother at 1p.m. Feb. 10 at the Masonic Lodge, 7065 Dumosa Ave., Yucca Valley, CA 92284.
