Ruben Ray Tagle

1953 - 2025

Ruben was born May 6, 1953, to his mother, Dorothy Lopes, and father, Arturo Tagle Sr. in San Bernardino County. He has four brothers, Arturo Jr., Ricardo, Antonio and Steven, as well as one sister, Darleen.

The family moved to the Hi-Desert in 1969. One year later, the family opened Arturos Mexican Restaurant in Joshua Tree. In 1972, Ruben graduated from YV High School and then joined the Air Force and served for 3-4 years. He was a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force with a zero defect award.

After serving in the Air Force, Ruben grew his family with four children of his own: three sons - Ruben Jr., Rubin and Hector, and one daughter - Azalea . He also has six grandchildren, Tyler, Tessa, Kailee, Calie, Daniel and Irie, and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Malakai.

Ruben was very selfless man who enjoyed helping others. No one was stranger to him. He loved the Lord and was a mentor, teacher, shaman, guidance counselor. He loved spending time with his family and barbecuing. He will be remembered by his huge, loving heart. He was a pillar to the community of the less fortunate, going out of his way to help anyone he could as often as possible. His singing and dancing will live in our memories forever. He was always a facilitator of happiness and was always the life of any party. His passing brings a void to his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed.
