Arthur Heath Obituary

Arthur Monroe Heath, aged 93, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024.

He was born on September 28, 1930, in Houston, TX, to Arthur and Katherine Heath. Art, as he was affectionately known, grew up alongside his sister, Mary E. "Heath" Earl. He later graduated from high school in Fort Worth, Texas.

After completing his education, Art attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1953. On February 14, 1953, he married his sweetheart, Roma Dell Wingfield. Their union blessed them with three children: Linda Susan "Heath" Amos, Douglas Alan Heath, and Carol "Heath" Hoff. All survive their father except for Carol, who passed in 2015.

Art served his country by dedicating 27 years of his life to a career in the Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His military service took him and his family to various. locations worldwide, including New York, Virginia, Japan, Thailand, and eventually Fort Hood. They retired to Lampasas, TX, where he served as city manager. He was also actively involved in the local Masonic Lodge.

In 1992, Art and Roma relocated to Marble Falls to embrace a leisurely lake life. He found joy in fishing, tinkering in his workshop, volunteering at his grandchildren's schools, and embarking on adventures with their local RV Club. They were devout members of First Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church in Marble Falls.

Art is remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a doting Papaw. His quick wit and captivating stories endeared him to all who knew him. He is survived by his children, their spouses, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
