Our hearts are heavy as we celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman - a devoted wife, cherished Mom, treasured Momo to her grandchildren, and selfless friend to many. Johnice Dee Nelson (Click), 68, of Johnson City, TX passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, with her loving husband by her side.
Johnice was born January 5, 1957 in Carrizo Springs, TX to Janice Click (Mangum) and John C Click. She grew up in many towns, but graduated proudly from Llano High School in 1975.
Johnice had a heart big enough to hold the world. She spent her life caring for everyone around her - family, friends, and the many "adopted" kids who she loved like her own. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her arms always ready for a hug. Johnice was the Area Director of Llano Special Opportunity School for many years where she was dedicated to helping adults with disabilities conquer their dreams and live life to the fullest. She was also a longtime volunteer of the Llano Crawfish Open benefit and the Burnet County Livestock Show, always helping any way she could.
She was the heart of her family - the one who made every gathering special and every person feel seen and loved. Her laughter and smile could fill a room and her kindness left a mark on all who knew her. She was the biggest Longhorn football fan and could always be found cheering on her boys every Saturday in the fall.
Johnice's pride and joy were her grandchildren. She never missed a softball game, cheerleading event, or stockshow. She was the official sideline Momo to everyone on the team or in the show ring. Her grand girls will never forget the trips they took, all the shopping sprees, or slumber parties at Mo and Poppy's.
Johnice is survived by her devoted husband, Bobby Nelson; Her loving mother, Janice Click; her children Jenah and Billie Smith, Ronnie Ratliff and Danet Rivera, Tony, David, Rick, Armando, and Cristy Rodriguez; Leland and Brooke Floyd; Sarah Smith. Her grandchildren Kaydee, Kynlee, and Kaselee Smith, Adyson and Bryson Floyd, and Riley Smith; and countless other children and grandchildren who she was honored to be called Mom, Momo, or Aunt Johnice by; Her Brother Carl and Shauna Click, Sister in Law Debra Click, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members. She is also survived by many amazing friends and neighbors. She taught us that family isn't just who you're born to - it's who you love along the way.
Johnice was preceded in death by her father John C Click; Her siblings, Janean Click and JC Click; and her beloved son Shane Nelson.
A celebration of Johnice's life will be held on November 1, 2025, 10am, at Six Mile Cemetery in Llano, Tx. Reception to follow.
