Born on April 1, 1939, in Heald, TX to Clois and Grace (Reneau) Hanner, Nelda lived a life

marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for her family and community. Nelda was a

lifelong resident of Texas, graduating high school in Shamrock, Texas, attending West Texas State

College. She married her soulmate, Dale Newman, on February 13, 1960 and and soon started her

family and began raising her children in Lubbock, TX. Her husband's opportunities took the

family to Canyon, TX and finally to Seminole, TX. She built a legacy of humor, warmth and

generosity. She was a mother who took great pride as a medical technologist, golf pro shop

operations director when her husband wanted to play golf, and creating a nurturing home for her

family. Upon retirement, Nelda & Dale moved to Marble Falls, where they spent 21 years together.

Nelda was known for her love of china painting and teaching the art to friends and family. Her

passion for cooking was exemplified in her love of sharing recipes with friends and family. Her

faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of Granite Mountain Baptist

Church in Marble Falls, where she and husband attended. Nelda moved to Temple in 2018 where

she continued to china paint and enjoy her family.

Nelda was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dale Newman; her parents, Clois and

Grace; and sister, Martha Pepper.

She is survived by her children, Norm Newman and his wife, Marinel (Nhei) of Hockley, TX and Niki

Morgan and her husband, Rory of Temple; her grandchildren, Nathan Morgan, Matthew Morgan

and his wife Brooke, Hailey Newman, and Brooke Newman; her sister, Glenda Adams; her

brother-in-law, Leon Pepper; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Nelda's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, remembered for amazing talents,

her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the joy she brought to every moment. In lieu of flowers,

the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Granite Mountain

Baptist Church of Marble Falls.
