My missionary dad (Jim Norton) knew Jim Knoll when we lived in Karuizawa Japan during the early 1960s. I remember Jim K. had a traumatic accident perhaps around 1970 when he was walking across a highway not realizing the dangerous drop below and plummeted to the bottom, landing in some shallow water. I believe it was dark and he broke multiple bones, barely escaping with his life. For the past 50 years I had no idea whether he made a full recovery... til just now when I saw his obituary. Looks like he survived into his earl 90s... WOW.

To Liz, Kris, Jeff, Debbie and your families: we just learned of Jim’s passing and remember the times we shared in Japan. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers in these months of sadness for you.

Pastor Jim loved well, lived well, and laughed well. I will miss him.
He loved and lived for the Lord each day and is now in the arms of our Holy Father.
Mrs. Knoll, Kris, Debbie, and Jeff, thank you for allowing me to be part of your family and sharing Pastor Jim with me.
We will all be together again!
