Tomorrow marks 6 years you were taken from your only child, Jonique. Keep watching over her. She has so much gong for her still, working, going to school and still blossoming into a strong young lady. Be by her side next week and she takes the 1st part of a very important exam that can lead into the career she's headed for. She misses you so much!

Jose-

Your baby girl is a senior! How time flies. You would be so proud of her & all of her accomplishments. She has came such a long way, and is such a good girl! She continues to play soccer, complains a little, bit she's still going strong. She continues to be a straight A student. As crazy as it may seem, she just got her drivers license. She just continues to make everyone proud. I know you are watching over her, please help to continue to keep her in line & watch over her as you always do!!!

Jose,

Everyone says as time passes, things get a little easier, but it just seems like the pain won't ease at all!!! But I just wanted to let you know that Jonique is becoming that young beautiful lady that you wanted and taught her to be..But guess her "smart mouth" will never go away. LOL I know you blame that on me..haa haaa. Her grades are good and she is trying to enjoy life. She just started her X-MAS vacation, and has been spending the last few days with your family...It's "ROUGH" without you. I miss calling you and telling you that she's not minding me. But don't worry, I got it all handled, just like you always told me, you know i'm a good mom and I always seem to be able to handle the things life throws at me with her. She's going to Disneyland for X-MAS for the 2nd year in a row. I miss her not being here, but whatever takes her mind off things a little, makes me happy. She can NEVER stop thinking about her daddy. DJ still always mentions you too, but he's at that age now where we had to explain to him that your in heaven....And he always says so he's in heaven with Brutus? (his dog that passed)it just makes us giggle...Anyways, just wanna wish you a Merry X-MAS and a Happy New Year.....

To my love bird Jonique,

Here's a little poem dedicated to you. Just know that you were your dads world, and he is looking down on you wanting the best. Being that you were his only child, "you" got to have 14 years of the greatest memories!!!

Love you so much, Mom........

It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back again.

Dear DAD,
I miss you so much and (LOVE) you forever! You were my bestfriend & my world , it's so hard now that your gone, I feel lost at times. It's hard to carry and handle this pain I'm going through. I never thought you would leave me this early I always thought you were going to grow old an live forever. It just feels like your on a long camping trip and im just waiting for you to come home. The other day i looked in the mirror and i saw the scare on my chin and thought of you because i remember you telling me how i got caught on a nail and you helped me out and told me not to cry. I'm so glad i had the best dad in the whole wide world nobody is as cool, fun, and nice as you were. Everybody liked you.. You had a big heart for everyone and especially for family. You kept everyone of us together through thick and thin. I pray all the time!! You must be one beautiful angel because god took the best one. Nobody is ever going to forget that big SMILE. Man oh man do i miss that beatiful smile daddy. I just wish you could come back home to me and give me a bug hug an comfort me and just tell me your home for good and that everything is going to be okay! I've been writing poems for you! how it was always just the two of us and i was your little baby girl,we did everything together. You taught me so much and i thankyou for always being there for me and for just being the GREATEST dad ever! I Love You So Much!!!! R.I.P you will always be missed and nobody will forget you..

Dear Jose's Family,

Jose was a friendly, kindhearted, funny, and caring person. It is a gift to us to have had the chance to know Jose. We will always remember the first time we met Jose, he gave us a very warm welcome to the neighborhood. We will always remember the chats we had with Jose through the yard fence while doing garden work, the smile on his face whenever we saw him, and the times he helped us out. He will always be in our heart and the memories of him will never be forgotten.

Rest In Peace Jose

With Love,
Anthony and Sandy Yim

Jose - I remember meeting you for the first time in high school. I was attracted by your smile and enjoyed your relaxing and "kick back" attitude. I remember the "pole" where all the homies would gather...Paul, Mario, Manuel, Isaac....those were good times and fond memories. That's the only way us crazy mexicans survived at that school...we had one another!! I will never forget you my friend. Rio Linda Class of 93....may your famliy be blessed. You will be missed. Together forever and never to part, maybe in distance but NEVER in heart!! Felicia

Carmina,Jonique, and all the Cortez & Franco Family,

There's just not enough words that can express the true sorrow I feel for each of you. It's such a devastating loss to everyone that knew Jose. He was such a kind, fun person that could touch your heart with just his smile alone. I will always remember the fun times we had at Raleys. His spirit will live on through his family and friends that he loved so dearly. To Jonique, you have always been and always will be his pride and joy. Carmina, you were the love of his life. Only time will heal your pain, but the beautiful memories you two shared will comfort you as well.
May God wrap his loving arms around you all and give you peace and comfort.
Rest in Peace Jose, we will always miss you.

With lots of love,
Gena Caluya
