He graduated from Quincy High School in 1954. He married Jeanette Laurell on June 15, 1958. Phil always liked fixing things. He started playing with electricity when he was five years old after a shock and wanted to know why. He started making service calls and fixing radios at age 12, by age 16 he was running the projectors in Quincy and Union City theaters. He performed in home television repair for many years in the "Tube Generation" of televisions. Phil then worked for Essex Wire/United Technologies from 1971-1977. In 1977 he started his own business "Sattler Electric Service" doing industrial electrical service and continued this until he semi-retired in April of 1998. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida after his retirement.
Phil was a longtime member of the Branch County Amateur Radio Club and held the License class of General and the call sign W8ARM and was a member of the Branch County Electrical Association. Phil attended the Pine Ridge Bible Church of Quincy. He was a collector of antique radios and wind up clocks. In his younger years he enjoyed photography and developing his own black and white pictures. He also held a private pilots license before getting his drivers license and flew his father's plane. He was the founder of Philip and Jeanette Sattler Scholarship for electrical studies through the Branch County Community Foundation.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette (Laurell) Sattler; daughter, Sally (Blane) Quilhot of Marshall; son, Richard (Wendy) Sattler of Quincy; four grandchildren, Brian and Rebecka (Becky) Quilhot of Marshall, Erica (Eric) Cozart of Coldwater and Amy Sattler (Joseph McQueen) of Hubert, NC; one great grandson, Owen Cozart of Coldwater, three step grandsons and six step great grandchildren.

What a great guy always willing to lend a hand or share a funny comic or joke.
I've been cutting Phil's hair at
the Quincy Barbershop for 7 years.
He graciously fixed my barber pole a couple years ago building a new motor for it . Bartering for just a haircut. A Blessing to many he will surely be missed.
