Anthony Drake Obituary
He was born Sept. 5, 1988, in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Larry Allen Drake and Catherine Iddles Vanderpool.
Anthony graduated from Box Elder High School in 2007. He lettered four years while playing football and loved his teammates and especially coach Roesler. He was currently studying at Utah State University in business. He was also a member of Sigma Chi as was his grandfather, Alan Iddles. He loved his Sigma Chi brothers. When Anthony would walk into a room the sunshine from his soul would brighten the room and when he left everyone knew him.
Anthony loved flying airplanes, pottery, reading - especially "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, music, skiing, boating, camping, motorcycling, walks, computers, outdoors, his pets and football. He was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings football team. He loved being with his family and friends. Anthony and his fiancé, Alyssa were looking forward to being parents in June to a little boy.
The family would like to thank his friends for their love and support at this time.
Surviving are his mother Catherine (Rick) Vanderpool; father Larry Drake; sister Molly Drake; and brother Ryan Drake - all of Brigham City; loving fiancé Alyssa Chamberlain; her parents Mike and Tracy Chamberlain and family; grandparents Delmar and Agnes Drake from Montana; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alan and Molly Iddles.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to America First Credit Union on behalf of Anthony Drake, with proceeds to benefit his unborn son.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 South in Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the same location. Following the funeral services, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Aldersgate Methodist Church, 235 E. 850 South in Brigham City.
