Cleve Reese
10/16/1940 - 10/15/2018
On Oct. 15, 2018, Cleve Woodward Reese passed away at home with his wife by his side. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He left this world for a more peaceful place where he can be free of the struggles he has endured over the last few years from COPD. He is now at peace. Cleve was 77 years old.
Cleve was born Oct. 16, 1940, the fifth child of Charles and Georgia Reese. He grew up on a farm outside of Logan, Utah. He went to school at Logan High School and graduated in 1960.
From a young age he was interested in electronics and mechanical things, basically anything that had a motor or wires. He would take apart toasters and lawn mowers and put them back together again. This man could build and fix anything that was put in front of him.
He started his career at Trans Western Airlines working at the airfield and fueling airplanes. He learned how to fly and would fly little Cessnas all around the Cache Valley. He loved to fly. Horizon bought out Trans Western and Cleve started his career with Horizon Airlines. He worked for them 30-plus years as a mechanic. He loved his job and all the friends he met along this journey. His health started taking a toll on him so he retired in 2010. If he could have he probably would have kept working to this day.
Cleve loved to go fishing and camping. When we would go on our excursions we would bet each other who would catch the first fish and the biggest. I bet you could guess who won those bets, me, his wife. He loved the mountains and streams and the lakes that we stayed at. He loved BBQ fish for breakfast. He also became a ham radio operator. He would buy ham radios, CBs, old computers and get them all working again. He loved to tinker. If things weren't built right or put together right he would make sure it was right.
He was an amazing man and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; and his little buddy, Cooper who never left his side; three daughters: Annaliece Faris (Ken), Alaina Evans (John), Natalie Sage (Arthur Klepchakov); son, Nathan Reese (Fanya); 20 grandkids; five great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Reese; sisters: Faye Reese McCann and Loila Gayle Hansen; brothers: Charles Reese and Claire Reese.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 24, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1260 N. 1600 East, in Logan, UT. Burial will follow at Logan City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian, ID, (208)888-5833. Remembrances may be left for the family on Cleve's webpage at
