Raymond Sipe Obituary

Raymond Luther Sipe returned to his Heavenly Father on Jan. 14, 2014. Ray was born Jan 23, 1939, in Blanding, Utah, to Charles Luther & Viola Palmer Sipe and also welcomed by three older sisters Carrie, Jenny, and Helen. Ray spent his childhood in Blanding. Two more siblings were welcomed into the Sipe family, brothers James and Martin.
After completing high school, Ray married Janet Wells and was blessed with a daughter, Terri Lynn and a son, Robert Dean. Ray and Janet later divorced and Ray moved to Barstow, Calif., to begin a new job working for Hayward Lumber Co.
He met and married Kathie Hamblin. They were sealed in the Los Angeles temple on Nov. 9, 1968. They became the parents of three sons: Brian Scott, Daniel Raymond and Curtis Rodney. Ray was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many positions and callings. Ray enjoyed many hobbies, from woodworking to gardening. He enjoyed many 4-wheeling trips with family and friends, spinning yarns and creating memories around many campfires, plus spending time with his grandchildren.
Ray pursued another career change and moved his family to Richmond, Utah, to work for Anderson Lumber Co. He retired from the lumber business and pursued another career as full-time husband, grandpa and snowbird by wintering in southern Utah.
Ray is survived by his wife Kathie, his five children, Terri (Nyle) Farmer, Robert Dean Sipe, Brian (Tresha) Sipe, Daniel (Camille) Sipe, and Curtis Sipe; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his five siblings: Carrie, Jenny, Helen, Jim and Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He will be missed by his family and many friends collected over the years. We love you, Dad; until we meet again, we will hug you close to our hearts!
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the Richmond 4th Ward LDS chapel, 150 S. 100 East in Richmond. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, Idaho, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Richmond. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
