Ruby Colleen Gleed

1929 - 2024

Ruby Colleen Young Gleed, 95, passed away on December 25th, 2024 at Maple Springs in Brigham City, Utah. Colleen was born in Logan, Utah on May 3rd, 1929 to Einar and Ruby Young. Colleen loved growing up in a large family of 14 children and cherished her many fond memories of those years.

Colleen lived in Logan her entire life, loving the places she worked and the many great people she met. While working at Woolworth's she met her future husband Bill. They were married on Dec 13, 1947 in Logan. They raised three children, two sons and a daughter.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints she loved serving in her callings in the Primary and Relief Society. She was a great example of caring and serving others. She had a big heart and cared deeply for her family and extended family. We have very fond memories of her great holiday parties and gatherings which she loved to host in her home and beautiful yard which she took great pride in.

Colleen spent the last several years in skilled nursing facilities where she quickly became a favorite with her quick whit and sense of humor. Whenever she had to move to a different facility the staff was sad to see her go. The family is so grateful for the care she received at Legacy House, Rocky Mountain Care, Maple Springs North and Maple Springs Brigham City.

Colleen is survived by her children, Michael Gleed (Melody), Donna Alder (Kent) and Jeffery Gleed (Kathy). She has 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Alan Young and many niece's and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and a grandson Colby.

There will be a viewing at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center in Logan on January 4th, 2025 from 10:00-1045 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. Burial will be at the Logan Cemetery..
