William F. "Bill" Shultz

William F. "Bill" Shultz, formerly of West Hanover Township, a man who was known for lending a hand to anyone in need, went home to his Lord on September 23, 2025.
Born August 21, 1930, in Catawissa, Columbia County, he was a son of the late Franklin William Shultz and Emma Irene (Helwig) Shultz. Bill honorably served in the United States Marine Corps and then dedicated over 35 years to the United States Postal Service prior to his retirement in 1993.
Bill was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, and was an active part of the Masonic community. He was a member of Harrisburg-Snyder Lodge #629 F. & A.M. and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon where he held the offices of Grand Tall Cedar and Supreme Grand Tall Cedar. During his term as Supreme Grand Tall Cedar, he hosted the annual Muscular Dystrophy Telethon with Jerry Lewis in 2006.
Bill was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Janet R. (Heberlig) Shultz; daughter, Susan (Michael) Rinehold and grandchildren, Nicholas (Natasha) Ridgley and Troy Ridgley. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Koons, Carrie "Jean" Longenberger and Mabel Shultz; brothers, Wayne Shultz and Charles Shultz; brother-in-law, Frank Heberlig and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepmother, Fanny Shultz and siblings, Elenora Crawford, Delores Nuss, Elizabeth Frank, Ruth Wolfe and Judy Lutz.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. on Friday October 3, 2025 at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Masonic Rites rendered by Harrisburg-Snyder Lodge #629 will begin at 11:00 A.M. followed by his funeral service with Rev. Dr. Karin E. Pejack, officiating. A reception and time for fellowship will be held at Cedars Grove of Harrisburg, 8143 Jonestown Road, immediately following the service. Relatives and friends are also invited to join the family for his committal ceremony with military honors at 1:30 P.M. on Monday October 6, 2025 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg.
