Lois Doan

1934 - 2016

Lois J. Doan, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016 and is now with her Lord and Savior.
She worked as an Administrative Assistant for PPG Industries in Adrian for 24 years prior to retirement and was a longtime member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Upon retirement, she moved to Holland, MI to be close to family. In Holland, she became a member of Peace Lutheran Church and an active volunteer in the community. She loved her W.E.L.C.A. Bible study, floral arranging, card making and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd & Stella Peavey; husband, Milton; sisters, Lillian Dennis, Bertine Dye, and Twyla McCarty; brother, Allen Peavey; and grandchildren, Maggie Scheuerman, Dane Scheuerman, and Cara Scheuerman.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl & Dan Scheuerman and their children Courtney, Drew, Cristina, and Taylor, all of Zeeland; son, Corey Doan of Holland; sisters, Marilyn Zook of Port Charlotte, FL, and Elaine & Tom Rodgers of Weston, MI; brothers, Lloyd & Rhonda Peavey of Adrian, MI, John & Connie William of Lawai, HI, and brother in law, Melvin Dye of Adrian, MI and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff of American House of Holland and Hospice of Holland for their care and compassion in the last several months of Lois's life.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m., Sunday, November 20 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland, MI. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church, 389 James St., Holland, MI. Memorial contributions can be made to Compassionate Heart Ministries, Hospice of Holland, or Peace Lutheran Church of Holland.
Burial will be in Palmyra Township Cemetery. An additional visitation is planned for 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Anderson Funeral Home, 3050 W Beecher Rd, Adrian, MI 49221. www.langelandsterenberg.com
