Carl McNutt Obituary

Carl Phillip McNutt

January 5, 1941 - April 3, 2021

Carl passed away suddenly while doing what he loved, moving earth on a bulldozer. He is survived by his two sons, Gary (Tamra) McNutt of Fenton, MI and Gregg McNutt of Howell, MI. He is also survived by his four brothers and three sisters. Gloria Robbins of Mason, MI, Herb (Patricia) McNutt of Perkins, MI, Loretta Robbins of Mason, MI, Paul (Kellie) McNutt of Fenton, MI, Bob (Louise) McNutt of Perkins, MI, Roxanne (Mike) Fournier of Mason, MI, Tom McNutt of Perkins, MI. He is also survived by his loving Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and close Friends who will sadly miss him.

Carl owned and operated McNutt Excavating for 55 years. When he was not working, he enjoyed hunting, antiques, auction sales, and spending time with friends and family. Carl had a flare for finding the best restaurants and diners during his travels.

Carl was born in Capac, MI to Phillip and Edith (Harms) McNutt then later moved to Perkins, MI in the Upper Peninsula. After beginning his career in construction and relocating to Hartland, MI with his then wife, Pauline McNutt, together they raised their loving family. Carl was charming and always had a smile on his face.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Upper Peninsula Club in Whitmore Lake, MI.

Uncle Carl had the most infectious laugh and smile to go with it. He was a man of few words but could tell stories to make you laugh. I will miss my dance partner. Rest in peace Uncle Carl you will be missed deeply.
