Marrion Gilbert Moon

1924 - 2023

Marrion Gilbert Moon Junior, 98, of Melbourne passed away on January 14, 2023. He was a man who never met a stranger, had incredible depth of spirit, and was a kind man who brightened any room he walked into. He was an upstanding citizen, friend, patriot, businessman, father, and grandfather.
Marrion was born on July 19, 1924 in Dothan, Alabama to Marion Gilbert Moon Senior and his wife, Loca.
After high school, he went on to join the United States Navy and served during World War II in the Pacific Theater as an Electrician's Mate.
In 1949, he married Dorothy Strickland in Waycross, Georgia, who preceded him in death. They went on to have two sons, Billy and Tommy Moon.
Marrion started a successful electric business, Moon Electric, in Melbourne in 1962, which he ran with his wife and two sons.
In 1989, he retired and spent much of his time traveling the country with his wife in an RV, seeing all 48 contiguous states and Alaska. He also enjoyed fishing and playing harmonica.
He is survived by his sons Billy Moon, wife Mary Jane and Tommy Moon, wife Kelly, and grandchildren Tammy, Wilton, wife Bridgitte, and Justin Moon.
He will be dearly missed.
