Clanton Hebert Obituary

Clanton E. "Tobe" Hebert, 93, a native of Labadieville and resident of Napoleonville, passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sisters, Lillie Melancon, Laura Daigle, and Lucy Naquin; grandson, Duane Luna and wife, Gina; granddaughter, D'Lyn Bollinger and husband, Craig; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Bollinger, Courtney and Carley Luna; step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Shawn Boyd; and step-great-great-grandchildren, Bree Boyd and Hunter Ponville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Boudreaux Hebert; companion, Joyce Berger; parents, Rene Hebert and Bernadette Aucoin Hebert; daughter, Pasty Diez; bothers, Claude and Clarence Hebert; and sister, Linah Himel.
Tobe was a retired sugar cane farmer who had a love for hunting and running his rabbit and deer dogs. A big man with a bigger heart who always was there to help others in their time of need. He loved to dance and enjoyed camping trips with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him especially his grandson, to whom he was a mentor and best friend. In recent weeks, Tobe often spoke of seeing the love of his life and wife, Doris, with her hand out calling him. He said she was on the other side of the pond. On Tuesday, Tobe crossed that pond to reunite with Doris.

D'lyn and Duane,
Heaven has gained a new angel. Uncle Tobe has now found his eternal paradise. It makes me smile to know all the loved ones he is now reunited with. I know Nanny and Aunt Doris were there to welcome him home. For us still here in our earthly home, we live with the grief and the loss. May God wrap his loving arms around you both and bring you comfort during this difficult time.
RIP Uncle Tobe. (You were my favorite uncle.)

He was a great man, a legend. I will always remember the visits with him. He was always happy, and was Elsie's last dance partner. His smile and laughter would always liven up a room!

If there are hunting dogs in heaven I am positive that you will train them to run and then the race is on. You lived a long and prosperous life. Thanks for all the long talks and life sharing experiences that you have shared with me and making me the man I am. I will miss you dearly. RIP Pa Pa
