Don J. Lirette

1945 - 2018

Don J. Lirette, age 72, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. His daughter Tina and his sister Jessie were at his side when he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Don was a longtime resident of Chauvin.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018; beginning at 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Elie Cemetery.

Don is survived by his daughter, Tina Duplantis and husband Errol; grandchildren, Madelyn Claire Duplantis, Cullen Anthony Duplantis, Tricia Boudreaux and Tyler Lirette; three great-grandchildren; mother, Elizabeth LeBouef Lirette; sisters, Jessie Lambeth, Barbara Lirette and husband, Gregory; two nieces; two nephews; and his cousin that he was very close to, Martin St. Romain

Don was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lirette Jr.; son, Troy Anthony Lirette; and brother-in-law, Denny Lambeth Sr.

Don was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family.

Don endured medical problems for many years, but it never stopped him from helping others and being reliable to many. In his younger years, he enjoyed fast cars, and recently enjoyed visiting casinos and playing the lottery.

Don's career was welding and became a welding foreman at a young age and spent over 20 years at Delta Iron. It is with heavy hearts that the community lost a wonderful man.

Don has been reunited with his son Troy and now rest in the arms of their Lord and Savior.
