May the love of God surround you during these difficult times. Romans 12:12

November 24, 2014

My love and sympathy goes out to Bonnie, Jeannie, and the twins, of which Camille I've met. JerryD and I met at USL in 1964, having had P.E. together. We met again in 1971 and shared our desire to become physicians. When I remarked that I hoped I could make a 3.5 grade point average, he scolded me and said, "No! You have to make the Highest A". So it was that we finished 1st and 2nd in all of our classes. His work ethic was second to none. He is the single most important person involved in getting me accepted to Medical School. Also, he loved his brother Keith so much. He'd always speak about how proud he was of him.
So my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I've prayed for him daily because he is always in my life.
JerryB, Jerome M. Broussard, M.D.

I worked with Dr. Derouen as he cared for children in the ER at TGMC in Houma. He was such a kind, giving pediatrician, and always put the care of the children first. Blessings to your family during this difficult time.
