Gilbert Griffin Obituary

Gilbert Anthony Griffin, 90, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday, Sept. 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Hebert Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Irene Griffin; son, Jerry Griffin (Joyce); daughters, Betty Duet (Penelton "DoDo") and Jeanette Griffin; foster daughter, June Pinel; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild and one on the way; two foster grandchildren; six foster great-grandchildren; sister, Rosemary Cheramie; and brothers, Alden and Ordoyne Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Linda Griffin; daughter, Geraldine Griffin; grandsons, Lonnie Duet and Richard Berthelot; foster son-in-law, Steve Pinel; sisters, Ambrozine "Boy" Toups and Ella Mae Chouest; brother, Albert Griffin; father and mother-in-law, Eves and Augstine Plaisance; brothers-in-law, Paris Toups, Dumas Cheramie and Lawrence Schouest; and sister-in-law, Augusta Griffin.
Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
