Harold Roussell Obituary
Rev. Roussell was the beloved husband of Azalea Mallory Roussell; devoted father of Tonia Clark, Shannon (David) Green, Kayshal Johnson, Harold V. (Apryl) Roussell, Jr., Ryan Roussell and Ralph Edwards II (Kimberly Cadres, companion); loving grandfather of Justin, Jada, Jordan and Jena Clark, Alexandria and David Green Jr., Derrick and Alexis Washington, Alanna Roussell, Brianna Gipson, Layla Pongrez, Brooklyn Edwards and Xaiver Clute; son of the late Rev. Ernest Roussell Sr. and Beulah Gasper Roussell; brother of Owen, Hazel Ann, Hilton Sr., Glen Sr. and Joel Roussell Sr., and the late Leona R. William, Mable R. Patterson, Ernest Jr., Vada and Dewey Roussell; son in-law of Herbert Moore Jr., and Rev. Joseph and Audrey Weber; and is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of family, as well as pastors, officers and members of Greater New Salem B.C., Mt. Pilgrim B.C., St. Stephen M.B.C., Evening Star M.B.C., Little Zion #3 B.C. and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish School Board, City of Gretna, United Healthcare, Southern Credit Recovery, Children's Hospital, Schlumburger Entergy Services, Entergy and Ochsner Medical Center; members of Westside Missionary Baptist Association, O.J. Dunn F&AM #85 and Mt. Pilgrim Chapter #35 are invited to attend the wake service at Greater New Salem Baptist Church, 818 Lafayette St. Houma, LA at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018. Remains will lie in state from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Rev. Hayward Sims will be officiating. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave, New Orleans.
Viewing will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. only. Interment will be at Westlawn Park Cemetery-Gretna.
The funeral services will be held under the auspices of Westside Missionary Baptist Association. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Orin Devon Grant Sr., the association's president, and host pastor Rev. Dr. Norman N. Francis.
Arrangements are by Davis Mortuary Service.

To my Family whom I love dearly: A seed was planted and sprouted to be a beautiful flower. It was specially picked and designed for a certain person, a certain purpose, and a certain reason. Once it completed and done all it was suppose to do here on earth, God wanted His flower back. As it departed, so many wonderful memories were left from it: The way it grew, The happiness it brought, The strength it gave, and most of all, The love it shared. The thing about this flower, while it was here it had so meaning. Because of that, it will never be forgotten. That flower will live on in our hearts, our souls and our minds. To God be the Glory for such a beautiful flower. Family, remember death leaves a heartache that only God can heal; but love leaves a memory no one can steal . Let the joy of the Lord be our strength. Although we can't be with you while you remember our love one, you're in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm Harold's brother-in-law and it's fitting that they don't have a drop down menu for that because Harold was like a brother to me. He guided me through all my hard times in life. We would talk on Sundays after his church service about the Saints and sports in general. He would tape the Saints game because of church service on Sunday and sometimes I couldn't wait and would tell him the score, and he wouldn't get made with me unless it was a Saints loss. Sorry I couldn't be there but I see you again on our next journey. Love you always and you will never be forgotten.
